We went on a big waterside. There were 6 lanes and stop and go lights. At the bottom there was a board that told you who came 1st, 2nd 3rd and so on. If you went before the green light you were disqualified (the board said 0).<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n We had to lie on a mat. Che is going down on his own.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n This is Matt and Che going really fast down the slide.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Here is what the slides looks like. You can also see the other stuff there- there was a water play park and a small pool. It was only about 30 cm deep.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n There was also a swimming pool and a water play park at the caravan park.<\/p>\n Howard Springs<\/strong><\/p>\n We went to Howard Springs, just around the corner from the caravan park.<\/p>\n Matt is in the water, bobbing along on his belly.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n This is an Australian white ibis. We have seen them everywhere. They are always at the caravan parks. This one was trying to get our picnic lunch.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Che went on a flying fox.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Matt went on the flying fox too.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Dad found a dead bat on a bench. He took some photos of it. Mum thinks it’s a bit icky.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Che lost his leg to a crocodile. Luckily he made himself a fake leg. (I think we might be joking. What do you think?)<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n WW II Oil Storage Tanks<\/strong><\/p>\n Right under Darwin are some huge old storage tanks that they used during the war. We had a walk inside them. It was interesting.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n This is us standing in front of a hole leading to another storage tank.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Darwin Waterfront<\/strong><\/p>\n We walked around Darwin and down to the waterfront. It didn’t look like a good place to go swimming.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Military Museum<\/strong><\/p>\n We went to the Word War II Military Museum. Did you know that Darwin was bombed by Japan in World War II?<\/p>\n We are standing near an anti-aircraft gun.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Matt is by a small tank-like vehicle.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n This is an anti-shipping gun.
